Re: Open Source LSU4.9 Wideband Controller
it was definitely a persistence of vision issue causing all the LEDs to appear dim. My first thought when it initially happened was that it was a miss-fire ( lean missfire ) issue, however i quickly ruled that out, i richened up the mixture, however this did not cure the issue, and with further obse...

Re: Open Source LSU4.9 Wideband Controller
looking back into some of the shems for the old analog design, the original DIY_WB, a design adopted ( or designed? ) by Tech-Edge, it also employed a PID loop control over the IP current. It just did it with op-amps rather than a micro-controller. So, im starting to think that a "simple" ...

Andy, thanks for the response. I understand the reasoning behind the JAGuar PCB design. Hope you didn't take offense to my comment. tomb-stoning resistors is a great way to make a compact board while making it easy for beginners to solder. But like you said, a little hot glue is a good idea if it wi...

Re: Open Source LSU4.9 Wideband Controller
Yes, as i understand it, the current is AC with reference to VGND. this, however is completely dependent on weather or not the O2 sensor is in a rich or lean environment. This is why there is a VGND. As i understand a WB O2 it sensor ( and please understand i am no expert ) is nothing more that a st...

Re: Open Source LSU4.9 Wideband Controller
I should point out that the op-amp I used for my small board is the same op-amp that Hellfire said he used, however, op-amps being what they are, they can be temperamental. Also should point out that mentioned out that C1 could be problematic. I still need to remove R4 and re-test, not sure if Hellf...

Re: Open Source LSU4.9 Wideband Controller
OK, finally got back on this project. Toc, sorry, the last set of schems i drew up ( for an arduino uno shield ) were based on another set of schems entirely. I dont want to post them just yet cause im not sure if that is ok to do, and they dont pertain to the Hellfire design. I wired my small board...

hello all. My name is Joe, I am a ex-mechanic and now an electronics tech. I am just starting this journey, still waiting on some hardware to arrive, and leaning i will need to put together some kind of dedicated laptop as well to get the ball rolling. up till today had one project for the Free EMS,...

Thanks for the info Fred, I'll start rounding up some hardware and such. As for the 32 bit Debian, will a raspberry pi work? I have a couple of those lying around. If not I'll have to buy something, looking at the Debian site it looks like a x86 is the most compatable hardware? As for the loader, is...

Ordered up a Jaguar bare board, looks like a nice board, but the all the tombstoned resistors make me wince a bit. Its a great way to save board space, however long term reliability in a car is not so great, unless they are potted. Can't tell you how many dashboards i repaired back in the day due to...
