long time ago i fitted one gear lever box with linear ball bearings for the selector rod. was much better than any plain bearing but a pain to find matching imperial bearings. if i would ever do that again i would make it metric.
maybe an idea for you, for long, cold evenings

that's true. the engineer just needs to be sure they will be strong enough to hold the seat to the car

is looks like this. but ignore the cut top left, i had to free it to fit a center speedo without removing the full loom

there is a specific closing panel for this hole, formed to give lots of clearance at the lower edge. im sure i have one in usable condition, will take a look later.

there are quite a lot 36-1 trigger set ups readily available for this engine that fit the crank damper

depending on price, i would take one or two assembled units. maybe even some bare PCB

just arrived
