Fred,
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "start working from the first principles".

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
Fred, New day, new attempt. I'm not an electronics engineer, nor an electronics technician. I have no formal training in the field. I am self taught. The information I have is that if a resistor is connected to ground it can be considered a pull down resistor. If it connected to a power supply it ca...

Re: Ford TFI decoder
Ah yes. That's what I am attempting to do but I seem to be having difficulty getting clarification on some of the connections.

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
So, are you going to answer my questions or are we just going to do some silly sparring?

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
"Pxx" means nothing to anyone?? I'm following the Jaguar schematic. Pxx denotes conn-1, a single pin connector. I can't seem to find any direct reference, but from examining the PCB file and the board itself it looks to me like P32 is labled "ign-12v" on the silk screen. Sorry fo...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
Andy,
On your schematic 12vdc-switched-outputs connects to 12v-sw2 and P32. What do you want P32 connected to?
Fred
Just to confirm you want me to use RPM0 for trigger input. Delete R22, R23 and R83.

Re: Ford TFI decoder
Pishta, I'm not sure what you mean by "port over". As I mentioned, I have what I call my "superstim". I built it to test all the standard MS1 I/Os, the extra stuff I've added as well as my transmission controller. For ignition trigger I just used a 555 timer for a square wave 12 ...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
Fred, OK. I'll wire the pin outs as per Andy's post on the subject and wait for some suitable firm ware to load. When I have that I'll connect to the superstim and play with it and get to know EMS Studio. If you give me a link to the source code that the .s19 is derived from I'll study that and see ...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
Fred, I thought that I had made my "expectations" clear from the beginning. Initially I would like to have Jaguar and Free EMS a direct replacement for the MS V2.2 board running a modified MS1 Extra code on my daily driver '95 Ford E-150 I6. TFI ignition, alternate bank fired. Once I have ...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha Assembly Guide
SUCCESS! ! ! You guys walk on water! Andy, I followed your instructions. Things went like clock work. Mike, EMS Studio connects right away, interrogation is successful in ~ 5 seconds. Andy again, How does my proposed pin out look? I'm looking forward to downloading some firmware (hint Fred), connect...
