Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Yeah the db37 has about 6 inches from the ecu until it passes through the firewall. At that point grounds, power/fuel/inj , signal/signal ground all split off in those groups. The only thing is the ignition wire is run with my vr wire but it is shielded so should be fine. Thanks for the zip tie idea...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Alright well finally got around to doing some work to the z!!!! I pulled the relay board and all of the wiring. Bought a wiring harness from diyautotune and am currently wiring it up. I am going to leave the BIP373 inside the board for ignition but will be giving it its own ground through one of the...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Yeah you just can't see it in the pic but I have both VR- and VR+ going into brickRPM and the Shield is grounded with brickRPM to Proto Ground. So when I first installed my alternator I hit the wrench with the cap while tightening down the power connection with it still attached to the battery (I kn...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Here was my temporary install I had to remove it because of the noise. I suspect the ground plane was coming up by a couple of volts causing the brickRPM not to function properly also probably the root cause of my Knock settings not working. If i turned on Knock settings the car will barely run it j...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

1. Well I could always purchase for the wires and buy a connector with solder cups and do it myself but this used to be my daily driver and I am ready to get her back on the road :D more impatient than anything as patience is not my strong suite I would rather spend more time doing something twice s...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Ok just a few questions... 1. I am going to get DIYAutotune's 8' DB37 Cable I think this will be sufficient for my build... 2. Either run the Injectors off of resistor box with MS driving them or use Jean's P&H board. (leaning towards resistor box) Anyone know of a good car to pull a resistor bo...

Re: 280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

Thank you its been a lot of work but it is finally getting there. Thanks for the filter idea I never really thought about that but I can hear it whistle at idle once it warms up. I agree an intercooler would probably be the smarter choice. Yeah we just got the green z about 6 months ago its a 77' 28...

280z Turbocharged MS2 v3.0

I bought this 76' 280z about 3 years ago and it started out with triple webers 40DCOE's. I have since rebuilt the motor and made a few upgrades. My end goal is about 350 whp in a car that weighs about 2700 pounds. Here is the list of mods: 2.8L inline 6 1mm overbored stock dished cast pistons Stock ...

Re: Separating the power and signal grounds on a V3 board

Thanks for all the support. I am actually finishing up my computer engineering degree in the next couple of weeks :) I will be ordering the 12' db37 wiring harness along with connectors and fuse blocks from diyautotune. I think I may just run resistors on my injectors but I've been searching and can...
