Re: boostedcabbage's 1995 Dodge Neon

FYI, I go back and forth on whether or not I think a smaller hysteresis is worse, better, or has no effect on the probability of valve float. With a smaller hysteresis: - On one hand you are hitting the rev limiter MANY more times than you used to be. Quadruply so because it feels so smooth. And hit...

Re: boostedcabbage's 1995 Dodge Neon

Regarding rev limiter hysteresis. I love my 25 RPM hysteresis. It's smooth as butter and a good compromise between the jarring OEM style and the spooky, almost imperceptible behavior of what I imagine a 0.5 RPM hysteresis might be like.

Kickstarter has relaxed their restrictions.

Kickstarter used to specifically disallow automotive related projects. They seem to allow them now.

Re: OpenLogViewer User Manual

I'm sorry you had trouble with that part of the user interface. That interface was supposed to be replaced a long time ago, which is why it never got put into this manual. I still hold out hope that one day I will be able to resume work on OLV, but it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon d...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha progress

Rick, make us a project thread about your car. I've been following Factory Five since almost their beginning and have visited the factory. I had a plan to build one for a very long time. I'd love to see what you're doing with yours.

Re: Images/Ideas for Street Bike Engine Powered VW Bug

And Hartley apparently makes a crankcase which solves the common issues as well. http://www.h1v8.com/H2.html Money grows on trees, right? Edit: Nevermind, the Hartley solution has no engine speed reduction built in, so the transmission sees all 11,000 RPM, which is not going to play nice with most t...

Re: Images/Ideas for Street Bike Engine Powered VW Bug

These folks have a solution to turn a bike engine into a normal car engine for use with a normal car transmission. They plan on selling it as a kit I believe.

This might solve most of your problems if the engine will fit lengthwise.
