Re: Pulse Width Calculations and Variable/Table/Function analysi

BRV-- what happens if upper limit is breached by alternator regulator fault I have seen 40v+ from a 12v system -yes it damaged things on car --but what over voltage protection are you considering or for that matter what under voltage protection --low volts means high amperage draw EGO-- why go down ...

Re: Serial protocol pre-design discussion - give us your input!

maybe me being thick --or just not on same wavelength
why are you even talking about serial port tuning when nearly every lap top made now has only USB port connection.
I know you don,t need the speed ,but using USB serial leads is never good and another place for comms to fall over .

Re: Engine Temperature Fuel Correction - how to do it?

OEM ecus have both air and water temp correction maps they usually go from -20c to +60c for air temp and -10c to +120c water temp. the cold start and warm up maps are usually another correction on top of the normal air +water maps these are found by emperical usage rather than a physics based curve....

Re: Engine Temperature Fuel Correction - how to do it?

why would you want to hammer an engine when its cold ? Its a condition that just should not occur. better idea would be to include a rev limter till engine temp is at least 70c-. To be running 11.1 you must be on boost or very old fashioned engine. yet again a good idea would be to limit boost till ...

Re: Tuning Table Size VE and Advance POLL inside

I didn,t say the sensor reacted that quickly ,but the software controlling it can be set to a 30ms cycle ,most other you have to wait to see a result ,even using a good sensor--the gems as soon as you alter fuelling it happens .

Re: Tuning Table Size VE and Advance POLL inside

"Yeah the fuel tables should be fine either way but for some motors they like bigger tables excpecially high boost high reving motors like these bikes have, tunning from 0-13,800 rpms then throwing some boost on top of that, it take some careful placing of bins to get them tunned with some resa...

Re: Tuning Table Size VE and Advance POLL inside

Its very simple you want as big a map as possible to cater for ever eventuality if you are lazy and don,t want to spend the ten minutes it will take to fill in suitable mapping points ,then what are you doing even messing about with a DIY ecu . the point of having as big and adjustable mapping point...

Re: AFR/Lambda table size, what is required?

the bigger the tables the more defination you can, as with all variables --maybe not equally spaced points but user definable to suit engine characteristics once you are on high engine loads/rpms then you will not need as many points--same as with ignition,as lomg as you can interperlate in all dire...

Re: Simplifying real-time barometric correction

its very simple you don,t need one if you run lambda control , If you don,t then unless you live at sea level and are going to race up a huge mountain ,or the other way round , on its own baro variation is very small effect and if you want the fuelling that close ,then you should run w/band in close...

Re: fly by wire throttle

Cheap is only one factor when choosing an engine. I prefer to choose based on performance capability and strength also. Most modern engines have pencil rods and are built with slim margins to make the power that they make and little/no more. I'd take a 1988 - 1998 engine over most modern stuff anyd...
