Re: Need an explanation on the CMP signal - help needed for algo

After some thinking and imagination, I got how the sequential spark and sequential injection will work. The falling edge of the CMP signal is only used during startups to determine the stroke of all other cylinders with respect to cylinder 1. Based on the image I posted, the 4 pulses of the CKP sign...

Need an explanation on the CMP signal - help needed for algo

i got this waveform from the service manual of a mitsubishi 4g18 engine (cedia lancer). the engine uses wasted spark . sensors are crank and cam with the following wave pattern http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii184/spyghost/4g15%20dohc%20build/timing.jpg - The CKP sensor simply indicates that a p...

Re: algorithm development

It may be that I'm not understanding what your specific algorithmic goal is here. I think you're wondering about how you would 'schedule' fuel and/or spark under those conditions without concentrating on the specific of mass/transient calcs ? it could be that i just asked the wrong way though... :r...

Re: Where do i begin?

well, frankly speaking, building things from scratch is a real deal of fun for me, but if i take that route, when will i ever finish? :? i have to design the circuit, make a prototype, layout the pcb, make the pcb, etc... etc... i like it but it might not be too practical - maybe when i retire after...

Re: Where do i begin?

You've already identified your i/o's of interest .. so go find a platform to fit those expectations and start writing some code. by "find a platform", are you saying get a known working ems such as ms and modify it according to my needs? To step back a bit more and jumpstart your efforts ...

Where do i begin?

Hi, I have an engine, a mitsubishi 4g15 dohc efi engine 16 valve. stock sensors include: - tps - coolant temp sensor - map sensor - cam angle sensor (built-in the distributor) - 1 o2 sensor on the headers It is distributor based, and does not have a crank angle sensor. the stock ecu gets engine spee...
