Re: MrOnion's OnionBoard - GP IO/Power PCB (requires CPU boa

I could, but not planning to produce any physical ones. I can take a look at the current state of the project and maybe push the changes into github if they still look solid. As a side note my own onionboard setup in the golf has been running without any problems so far and there is another board re...

Those VW crank sensors are usually VR. Two pins for signal and one for shield as Fred already mentioned.

I have few of those sensors so can check the pinout later if needed.

Re: MrOnion's OnionBoard - GP IO/Power PCB (requires CPU boa

Yep, that's the point. I read an article once where there was some info about should you use many small vias over one large. The conclusion was that it didn't make too much of a difference. I have seen these used in several other boards with H-bridge drivers, etc. Chips that need to sink high curren...

Re: MrOnion's OnionBoard - GP IO/Power PCB (requires CPU boa

Quick proof that they actually exist ;). Silkscreen is shit, but thats what you get when using a skinny and tiny font :(. Also f**ked up the heatsink placement but that can be modified. The molex connector holes are the right size but the legs on my connector are squared so they wont fit without a f...

Re: MrOnion's OnionBoard - GP IO/Power PCB (requires CPU boa

Ok, 5 pcs of onionboards arrived on friday but are still stuck in customs so will get them on mon/tue. First batch is small just to make sure the board is ok. I will keep one or two for myself and send two to Fred. So basically there is an extra one if someone is brave enough to try it ;). AND posse...

Ok,

Did a final change to the vegetableboard and reorganized the solderpads so molex minifit connectors can be used if desired...

Few boards are now ordered so will see how they look when they arrive... :)

Re: Standalone Idle Valves

I also have few of these 2-wire Bosch valves available. From an early VW VR6 engine and from several Opel engines we have at the workshop. It'a bit larger than the 3-wire valve I posted above. It also has a calibration screw but it's heavily glued and hard to adjust without braking it. http://img.fi...

Re: MrOnion's 1989 VW Golf MK2 1.8 8V (21st)

What are you talking about? Your fearless leader is a hard core air cooled fan from way back :-p Of course you are ;). But more the merrier, both air and water. Was it Matthieu (flat4power) that was also an aircooled dude? So we definately need more water VW guys ;). What's in the stock dizzy as is...
