Re: LSU4.9 Sensor Simulator

Thanks Alan. Basically what I am looking for is a circuit that would satisfy the basic requirements of the wideband controller enough that the controller would report a fairly stable A/F ratio of any reasonable value without sensing a fault. I did do some more "Google"-ing and realized tha...

LSU4.9 Sensor Simulator

I need to develop a circuit that will simulate a Bosch LSU4.9 wideband sensor. It will used for basic "check for brains" testing of a wideband controller in a production environment. I thought that I would ask if anyone had any suggestions (Toalan, Hot Fire, ...) before I start getting hea...

Re: Jaguar 0.6-alpha progress

Hi Andy,

Do you have a pdf of the current 0.6-alpha schematic?

Thanks,

Re: VW Golf -89 Street/Trackday Car with ELMicro CardS12

Hi MrOnion,

Do you have a list of specific manufacturer's (or distributor's) part numbers for the components you plan on using for the power supply circuitry? Thanks

Re: Power Supply Design - Input Protection Scheme

I politely disagree with this decision because I feel that the odds of an enthusiast (or noob) wiring even one input accidentally to battery is much lower than than the potential of this circuit to cause issues. I understand that it is not my call, I just wanted to express my concern. Though I also ...

Re: Power Supply Design - Input Protection Scheme

As with any design decision, you play into statistics with it. If you're happy for 5% to require rework to work properly, then you can pick a voltage based on that and a known statistical distribution. Nope, not for automotive, we are required to prove with a WCA (Worst Case Analysis) that our desi...

Don't worry about specs, just call out some 10% as most of them will be quite near the nominal value.

Re: Power Supply Design - Input Protection Scheme

How may parts did you measure at 0C or at 60C?
The specifications are the speciications, if you don't like them, I guess you can ignore them if you want.
Thanks,
Huff

Re: Power Supply Design - Input Protection Scheme

HUH?
So "Quality" and "DIY" and "NOOB" go out the window cause we don't like reality? A 5% part was picked, if that is not acceptable, pick another part or review the topology.

Re: Power Supply Design - Input Protection Scheme

Look at the first Parameter ("Reference Voltage") on page 3 (sorry, but I do not know how to copy / paste from the data sheet). So even if you use 0.01% resistors to obtain 1.275V at 5.00V, the regulator may try to regulate the output to obtain 1.211 to 1.339V at it's adjust pin. Note that...
